Senior home & tech help for the little things that matter
Need help getting the TV working, setting up a new phone or putting together a piece of furniture? Make a list of everything that has been bugging you. We will look it over, tell you what we can finish in one visit, and send a patient technician who explains things in plain English and does not rush.
Most visits are a mix: a Roku that stopped connecting, a nightstand still in the box, two cabinet handles that wobble, and a printer that will not print. You do not need to book four different companies. One visit covers all of it.
Computer, phone & tablet help
Set up a new iPhone, iPad or Android, make the text bigger, connect a printer, back up and organize photos, and practice a FaceTime or Zoom call until it feels easy.
TV, streaming & remotes
Connect the TV to Wi-Fi, set up Roku, Fire TV or Apple TV, simplify the remotes and leave a large-print guide for turning on the TV and finding favorite channels.
Wi-Fi & everyday devices
Reconnect a printer, pair hearing-friendly Bluetooth speakers or headphones, set up a video doorbell and show you how to use the thermostat.
Furniture assembly & mounting
Assemble a recliner, desk, nightstand or bookshelf, hang pictures and curtain rods, mount a TV, and anchor tall furniture to the wall so it cannot tip.
Small repairs
Tighten cabinet handles, fix sticking doors, patch small drywall holes, replace reachable bulbs, change smoke-detector batteries and fix a running toilet.
Safer-at-home updates
Grab bars, sturdier handrails, motion-sensor night lights, lever door handles and other small changes that make it easier to get around the house.
The Small Jobs Visit
Send us your list before booking. We will tell you what fits in one visit. If you would like us to stay longer, extra time is $65 per hour, and only with your approval. Parts and materials are quoted separately before we buy anything.

What fits in a two-hour senior tech help visit
Every home is different, but these are the kinds of lists that usually fit in one Small Jobs Visit:
| Example list | What we do |
|---|---|
| “The TV and the nightstand” | Reconnect the Roku to Wi-Fi, program one remote for the TV, write a large-print guide, assemble a new nightstand and tighten two cabinet handles. |
| “New phone, please” | Move contacts and photos to a new iPhone, enlarge the text, set up FaceTime favorites, connect the printer and practice a video call twice. |
| “Bathroom safety” | Install two grab bars into studs, add motion night lights in the hall and bathroom, and tighten a loose stair handrail. |
| “Moving into a smaller place” | Hang pictures and a mirror, put up curtain rods, assemble a bookshelf and anchor it to the wall, and set up the TV. |
Booking senior tech help for a parent?
A lot of our visits are booked by sons and daughters who live across town or across the country. You can call or text the list, pick a time with your mom or dad, and let us take it from there.
- You arrange, they approveWe confirm the list with your parent when we arrive, and nothing extra is done without their OK.
- A short update afterwardWith your parent’s permission, we text or call you with what we completed and anything we noticed.
- Same technician when possibleA familiar face makes the second and third visits easier for everyone.
- Simple paymentWe can invoice you directly, so your parent never has to handle payment.
Their passwords and payments stay theirs
Our technicians never ask for bank, card or Medicare information, and we never take over a computer remotely. When an account needs a password, we show your parent where to type it. If someone calls claiming to be tech support and asks for access or payment, it is a scam. The FTC explains how to spot and report tech support scams.
While we are there: small changes that make home safer
A Small Jobs Visit is a good time to take care of the little hazards that are easy to put off. Ask us to add any of these to your list:
- Grab barsBy the toilet, inside the shower or at the tub edge, anchored into studs or solid blocking.
- HandrailsTighten a wobbly stair rail or add a second rail so both hands have something to hold.
- Night lightsMotion-sensor lights for the hallway, bathroom and stairs for safer trips at night.
- Easier handlesSwap round doorknobs and small cabinet knobs for lever handles and pulls that are easier to grip.
- Smoke and CO detectorsChange batteries in high detectors or replace old units so nobody climbs a ladder.
- Trip-hazard fixesSecure loose rug edges and thresholds, and route TV and lamp cords out of walkways.
- Handheld shower headSwap a fixed shower head for a handheld one on a slide bar.
- Video doorbellSee who is at the door from a chair or phone before getting up.

Senior home & tech help FAQs
How much does a Small Jobs Visit cost?
A Small Jobs Visit is $130 and covers up to two hours with one UES technician. If you want us to stay longer, additional time is $65 per hour, only with your OK. Parts and materials, like a grab bar or a new remote, are quoted separately before we buy them.
Can I book senior tech help for my mom or dad?
Yes. Many of our visits are booked by an adult son or daughter, often from out of town. Call or text (346) 581-2234 with the list, and we will schedule a time that works for your parent. With their permission, we will text or call you afterward with what we completed.
Do I need to be at my parent’s house during the visit?
No. Your parent or another adult needs to be home to let us in and show us the items, but you do not need to be there. We will confirm the list with them when we arrive and follow up with you if they have given permission.
Do you charge for drive time?
No. There is no travel charge anywhere in Montgomery County or Tomball, including The Woodlands, Conroe, Magnolia, Willis, Montgomery and Spring. Outside that area, we will tell you about any travel charge before you book.
Will your technician need my passwords or credit card?
No. When an account is involved, we show you where to type your password and you enter it yourself. We never ask for bank, card or Medicare information. A real UES technician will never call you out of the blue asking for remote access to your computer.
What if my list takes more than two hours?
We review your list before booking and tell you what we expect to finish in one visit. If something runs long, we stop and ask before going past two hours. You can approve the extra time or book a second visit.
Can you install grab bars in my bathroom?
Yes. We install grab bars anchored into wall studs or solid blocking, not plastic drywall anchors, and we can add one by the toilet, inside the shower or at the tub edge. We can also tighten or replace loose stair handrails during the same visit.
Are your technicians background-checked?
Yes. Every UES technician who works inside a customer’s home is background-checked. UES Solutions is veteran-owned, licensed and insured, and we send the same technician back whenever we can, so you see a familiar face.
Will you leave instructions after setting up my TV or phone?
Yes, just ask. We can leave a simple large-print guide with the steps for the things you use most, like turning on the TV and finding your channels, or starting a video call with the grandkids.
Ready to get started?
